Timetable 2027: more international connections to Switzerland
Switzerland changes its timetable on 13 December 2026. Timetable 2027 brings more direct trains from Italy, the return of daytime TGVs from Paris, and a new generation of Nightjet trains from Amsterdam. Here is what changes for clients arriving by rail, and what to keep in mind when you book.
Italy: two direct trains a day to Zurich
Two daily direct services now run in each direction between Venice and Zurich, up from one, and the connection from La Spezia via Genoa runs daily year-round. From the Swiss border, both are covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.
France: three daily TGVs from Paris
From 5 April 2027, three daily TGV services per direction return between Paris, Geneva and Lausanne.
Amsterdam: a new Nightjet generation
From the timetable change, next-generation ÖBB Nightjet trains also serve the Amsterdam–Zurich route, giving overnight guests from Amsterdam, Hamburg and Vienna more comfort on three lines.

Construction work in 2027
Maintaining and expanding the network again calls for extensive engineering work in 2027, which can mean temporary timetable changes and longer journeys.
