Timetable 2026 with more train connections from abroad
The new 2026 timetable offers travelers more direct connections and destinations from which they can conveniently discover Switzerland by public transport. Whether from Italy, Germany or France – many additional and new direct trains will connect all of Europe with Switzerland every day from 14 December 2025.
We have already compiled an overview of the most important changes to the 2026 timetable for you here:
Arrival from Italy
• Two extra trains will run daily between Milano Centrale–Zürich
• In addition, the existing direct connection from Bologna will be extended to Florence.
• From March to October, the existing direct train from Genova will even run from Livorno further in the south.
Arrival from Germany
• For the first time, there will be direct ICE trains, e.g. from Berlin or Hamburg to Brig:
1x from Dortmund (departing 05:37 via Köln, FFM Airport Mannheim Karlsruhe Freiburg to Visp and arriving to Brig at 13:11)
1x from Hamburg (departing 08:44 via Dortmund, Köln, FFM Airport Mannheim Karlsruhe Freiburg to Visp and arriving to Brig at 19:33)
• The number of direct Berlin–Chur connections will be increased to four trains per day in each direction.
Arrival from France
• The seasonal TGV Lyria direct connection Marseille–Lausanne will be extended for one year in 2026: Passengers will now be able to travel directly from the French Mediterranean coast to Lausanne from April until October – on Thursdays to Mondays. In July and August, trains will continue to run daily. This will also improve Lyon’s connection to western Switzerland.
