Mountain railways, panoramic trains, boat cruises and more kick off summer season.

Spring ushers in an array of season openings for various transport companies, offering an exhilarating mix of experiences from panoramic train journeys to serene lake cruises. Below, we outline the key details for each service, including start dates and special features to help you plan your adventures in the enchanting landscapes of Switzerland and beyond.

The Bernina Express Bus starts off the season on 28 March. Until 27 October, enjoy daily connections and increased capacity during the peak season. Travel through the breathtaking Alpine landscapes and experience a journey as unique as it is memorable.

Just one day later, on 29 March, the funicular resumes its operation to Harder Kulm. Until 1 December, you can enjoy the fascinating view over Interlaken and the surrounding Alpine panorama daily, even during evening rides up until 20 October. A must for every nature lover.

On 13 April, the season starts for the CabriO cable car to Stanserhorn. Until 24 November, enjoy one of the world’s most innovative mountain railways with fresh mountain air and a 360-degree panorama. An experience not to be missed. Also, on 13 April, the season starts for the BLS Boat Cruises on the picturesque Lake Brienz. Until 20 October, you can combine the shipping with a Kambly round trip and experience the Alps from the water. From 20 April, the Gotthard Panorama Express takes you on a historical journey. Experience the impressive combination of train and boat until 20 October and dive into Swiss history.

On 2 May, the MOB Chocolate Train starts its new season, lasting until 29 September. A delicious journey offered on selected days in May, June, and September, and almost daily in July and August. With the summer season start on 4 May (winter saison ends on 3 May), the Glacier Express invites you to an unforgettable journey from Zermatt to St. Moritz. Until 12 October, enjoy increased capacity and a special summer timetable. The Bernina Express begins its summer season on 11 May. Until 27 October, the journey promises unparalleled views and experiences with increased capacity and a special timetable.

From 8 June, you can experience historical train journeys with the Brienz Rothorn Railway until 20 October. A journey through time that excites both young and old. With the season start on 15 June, the Schynige Platte reopens its gates for visitors. Until 20 October, you can combine traditional train journeys with breathtaking panoramic views. And on 22 June, the season for the Central Alps Passes PostBus Route through the Central Alps begins. Until 6 October, experience one of the most beautiful panoramic routes in Switzerland.
